The School of Architecture and Planning is pleased to announce that its commencement ceremony will take place as an in-person, outdoor event on Friday, May 14, 2021, at 5:00 PM (tented location on North Campus TBD).

This follows UB President Satish K. Tripathi's announcement this morning that the University at Buffalo will celebrate its 175th commencement in person, with all ceremonies to be held outdoors.

Degree candidates planning to participate in the ceremony are invited to review the Commencement website for details. Further information is forthcoming, including registration details and options for virtual or in-person attendance. A decision on whether guests will be permitted to attend the ceremonies will be made by the university at a later date, in consultation with the county and state departments of health. All ceremonies will be live streamed.

Students participating in person are required to purchase a cap and gown set no later than April 2 (orders placed after 4/2 will incur higher shipping prices and are not guaranteed to arrive in time for the ceremony). When purchasing your regalia, please remember to mention your specific degree, as gown colors and hood/tassel colors differ based on program and degree level:

For undergraduate students graduating with Latin Honors, further details will be emailed to you regarding the purchase of the Gold Cord to be worn at commencement.

If you have any questions regarding commencement, please feel free to contact Joelle Haseley at jes46@buffalo.edu or 829-3981.

Congratulations to all our graduates. We look forward to seeing you at commencement.
