The School of Architecture and Planning is pleased to invite all (undergraduate, graduate, architecture, planning and real estate development) students, faculty and staff to a School-wide, in-person celebration of our students and their achievements. Award's Day + Atelier 2021 will feature our annual presentation of student awards, an exhibition of student work, and special recognition of last year's (2020) grads. Lunch will be provided by the School, compliments of UB's Big Blue food truck. We welcome family, friends and members of the public to participate in the event virtually (see virtual livestream links below).
Health and safety guidelines: Please view the FAQs below for a list of requirements for in-person participation, including documentation of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test
- Due to health and safety guidelines, in-person participation in Award's Day + Atelier is limited to current students, faculty, staff and members of our Class of 2020.
- Seating will be spatially distanced on the Hayes Front Lawn; please bring your own blanket or lawn chair.
- Student work exhibition: Atelier 2021 will feature student models, drawings and full-scale built works installed in Hayes and Crosby Halls and on the campus grounds, both behind and in front of Hayes Hall. Options for viewing the work online will also be available; details forthcoming.

Thank you to the faculty, staff and partners at UB and in the community who have helped to organize a safe and fun event: Korydon Smith, Professor and Chair of Architecture; Lindsay Romano, Director of Fabrication; and Greg Delaney, Clinical Assistant Professor of Architecture. The School is thrilled to be able to celebrate Award's Day + Atelier 2021 in person. Although COVID-19 continues to be a risk, we have taken steps to minimize the chance of transmission. The School's event plan has been approved by the Erie County health department in accordance with CDC and New York State COVID-19 guidelines.
All in-person attendees must adhere to the following requirements on the day of the event:
- Complete the Daily Health Check at secure.lifelink.com/buffalo
- Bring photo ID and be prepared to show one of the below:
- Negative viral test result (taken within 72 hours for PCR or 6 hours for antigen).
- UB testing sites include the following locations:
- Student Union
- Greiner Hall
- Allen Hall
- Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences
- Additional testing sites for attendees are listed on an Erie County testing map at erie.gov/covidtestsites to find a COVID-19 testing site near you. This list is subject to change and may not reflect all testing options in Erie County.
- UB testing sites include the following locations:
- Proof of full vaccination (at least 14 days after final dose).
- Proof of full recovery from COVID-19 within the last 90 days
- Negative viral test result (taken within 72 hours for PCR or 6 hours for antigen).
- Wear a face covering over nose and mouth.
- Maintain a minimum six feet of physical distance from those outside your household or party.
