Guidelines for accessing School buildings and facilities

Updated January 25, 2021

Crosby, Hayes, and Parker will continue to provide important educational supports for students across our programs. The following outlines new protocols for space usage to ensure the health and safety of the entire UB community.

Hours of operation

Hours of operation for Crosby, Hayes and Parker Halls are 8 am – 9 pm daily (including weekends). Swipe access is required. See below for additional details on access to libraries and other campus spaces.

Access to buildings

Your UB Card will be used to “swipe” into all School of Architecture and Planning buildings to which you need access.  Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, school buildings will be locked and accessible only via swipe cards to limit non-SA&P access to our facilities. If you get a new card or have swipe card problems, please see IT Services in Hayes 326 to verify or update your card information.  If you are having access problems to SA&P building, please email Dr. Bruce Majkowski at, indicating the nature of the problem and including a picture of the front of your UB Card. If you are locked out of the buildings or your studio after normal business hours, please call Campus Police at 645-2222 to have them contact UB Facilities to open the room.

To ensure the safety and health of our community, eating and drinking is prohibited in most spaces, including classrooms, living learning landscapes and other social learning spaces, computing labs and the Shop. Eating and drinking is discouraged in architectural studios, particularly when other students are present.
