Marsha Henderson

Marsha Henderson is a graduate of the University at Buffalo College of Arts and Sciences.  Following graduation, she began a career in financial services and was associated with three national organizations over a 34-year career. 

Her main areas of responsibility were in commercial lending, private banking, trust and investment management. Marsha’s last position in banking was for seven years with KeyBank serving as President of the Western New York Division. During her career she earned a master’s in business administration from Canisius College, Buffalo.

In 2005, Marsha made a career shift joining the executive management team at UB under President John B. Simpson to lead the newly established External Affairs Division overseeing development and alumni relations, communications, government and community relations. Her team led the successful effort to gain legislative and community support for UB2020, the plan for increased growth and quality, as a community priority and economic opportunity. She left her position in 2011 to devote time to personal pursuits. 

Over Marsha’s career she held numerous leadership positions in national and local organizations in financial services as well as community, business and nonprofit organizations. She was the first woman to serve as chair of the Buffalo Niagara Partnership as well as founding chair of the WNY Women’s Foundation and charter member of Leadership Buffalo. She has been recognized for her many contributions and leadership to organizations however remains most gratified of the opportunity to provide mentorship to aspiring career women.
