Elaine Y. Chow is teaching Undergraduate Sophomore and Junior Design Studios.

Her professional work balances contemporary design aesthetics with environmental considerations. She graduated with honors from UB's School of Architecture and Planning and received the Outstanding Academic Achievement Award and AIA Eleanor Allwork Portfolio Grant. Elaine holds a M.Arch from Columbia University's Graduate School of Architecture, Planning, and Preservation where she received the Lucille Smyser Lowenfish Memorial Prize for studio design. 

Elaine is a Registered Architect with NCARB and LEED certifications. She has worked internationally and on government buildings including an embassy and courthouse with Kallmann, McKinnell and Wood Architects in Boston. In Shanghai, China, Elaine worked with zerolaboffice on large-scale commercial and mixed use projects as well as a villa located in Ordos, Inner Mongolia. After returning to Buffalo, she is working on retail spaces and private residences which include an Energy Star rated Net-Zero Residence.​
