A graduate studio that examined the feasibilty of innovation districts in Buffalo has earned a top award from the Association of Collegiate Schools of Planning.

Working in consultation with high ranking planners from the City of Buffalo and real estate development professionals, Professor Ernest Sternberg’s MUP studio investigated the feasibility of locating an innovation district within the City of Buffalo.
“More architects and planners should be running for government,” says Town of Amherst Supervisor Brian Kulpa, who holds three degrees from the School of Architecture and Planning.

Twenty-nine students crisscrossed the boroughs on a dizzying two-day excursion that included site visits to signature development projects, a chance to see the inner workings of major employers, and networking opportunities with alumni at work across the professions.
