Joy Kuebler

Joy Kuebler was born and raised in Western NY, and returned in 1998 to be part of Buffalo’s renaissance.  Joy is a graduate of Cornell University’s Landscape Architecture program and the Interior Design program at Villa Maria College in Buffalo. 

She formed Joy Kuebler Landscape Architect, PC (JKLA) in 2003 to have a positive impact on the quality of life for people through sensitive and responsible design. Throughout her career, Joy has focused her work on the human experience in the landscape, integrating the outdoors and architecture to create unique and inspiring environments.  

Kuebler has steadily expanded her business to include a diversified mix of commercial, transportation, medical and education projects with over 18 schoolyards addressing the needs of academic curricula as well as play. Her projects range in scope from half-acre community-built parks, intimate gardens for small children, large university campus redevelopments, to large city inter-modal transit facilities.

Joy also plays a vital role in her community and profession serving as the NY Upstate Chapter President of the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) from 2013-2015, as well as serving as chair for the WNY 2014 Conference Program Committee for the Congress for New Urbanism, member of the Women and Children’s Hospital of Buffalo Reuse Planning Committee, previous member of the Botanical Gardens Board of Directors, Buffalo Green Code advisor for various working groups, member of The Women’s Group of Buffalo, and co-founder of Pop Up Park Buffalo.
