This course will explore a variety of techniques in ceramic fabrication that cross digital craft and traditional production methods. This course requires a willingness to experiment with both analog and digital fabrication methods.

We will explore slip casting and mold making, ceramic 3D printing, and hand building. The class will be involved in a series of distinct experiments ranging from independent explorations to a collective installation.

We will benefit from facilities and expertise provided by the UB SMART Factory, and the School of Ceramic Arts at Alfred University. This course will require fieldtrips to Alfred University.
