Alphonso O’Neil-White

Alphonso O’Neil-White recently retired as president and CEO of HealthNow New York Inc., a BlueCross BlueShield licensee in upstate New York, where he took the helm in 2003, leading the company’s dramatic turnaround and rise to market leadership.

Alphonso O’Neil-White leadership accomplishments are many and varied, highlighted by his service as: chair and director of the Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo, a director of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, chair of the BlueCross BlueShield Association Board of Directors, a trustee of the world-renowned Albright Knox Art Gallery, and a founder of the Say Yes to Education Buffalo Initiative, a public/private/ partnership that seeks to improve high school graduation rates and post-secondary attainment. The initiative also provides full college scholarships for all Buffalo Public School graduates. O’Neil-White chairs the scholarship fund board of directors.

He is a graduate of Hampden-Sydney College (’72) and holds a law degree from the University of Louisville’s Louis Brandeis School of Law.
