George Gellman is one of the three founding principles of The Benchmark Group, a Buffalo-based company with a total portfolio that includes 6,600 apartments units in 12 states and 5,000,000 square feet of retail space in six states.
Gellman has extensive real estate experience as an owner, investor, developer and operator of real estate projects throughout the United States. He is actively involved in analyzing real estate acquisitions. He coordinates several of Benchmark's divisions. He is also active in negotiating commercial tenant leases and initiating relations with potential tenants.
Gellman received a bachelor's degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1969. In 1972, he earned his JD from the Northwestern University School of Law, where he was editor-in-chief of the Journal of Criminal Law and Criminology.
