A graduate of The University of Detroit School of Architecture in 1976, He was in Private practice for over 30 years.

Before joining the School of Architecture and Planning in 2010, Harry Warren served as Design Principal with a 1,100-person international AE firm. His areas of expertise include Education, Healthcare, Research and Master Planning, with numerous projects throughout North American and Overseas, especially in the Middle East.  Major projects include two complete new universities, Sabanci University in Istanbul, Turkey and Ave Maria University in Florida, USA.

Warren's work has been the recipient of over 50 international, national and local design awards including the AIA National Honor Award for the Montante Cultural Center at Canisius College in Buffalo, NY. His work has been featured in several books, magazines and newspapers including the New York Times. Major presentations include several to the Society for College and University Planning and the organization of A National Sustainability Conference on Architecture at Kean University, lectures at North Carolina State University and the University of Detroit.

Warren's areas of concentration at the Buffalo School are comprehensive design, construction technology, site and master planning, and urban design.
